Shooting for England

To be eligible to represent any England Clay Target Shooting Team please see England Team Handbook.  England Team Handbook

Below is the process used to decide selection for the England ABT Team for Home International Team matches only (under the jurisdiction of the ICTSC).

  • There are 4 selection shoots that run between March and August each year. Where these shoots are held is determined by a rota. We also include the English Open ABT as one of the selection shoots.
  • Scores are submitted after the last shoot but the best 3 from 4 scores may only be required to count.
  • The deadline for submitting these scores is Midnight on 5th July 2022.
  • Points from high gun of each event are calculated.
  • Shooters with the lowest scores go through to represent England.

As the Home International is being held in Ireland in 2022, you must be 16 years or older to shoot.

ABT Team Size:

  • 12 Seniors
  • 3 Ladies
  • 3 Juniors
  • 3 Veterans
  • 3 Super Veterans

England Team Captaincy

  • The Team Captain will be the member with most number of appearances (cpsa) in the specific event’s team, irrespective of category.  If any team member has already been Captain at any time in the past, their appearances will be counted from the year following their last captaincy.
  • In the event of two or more members having the same number of caps, the member with the earliest first team appearance will become Captain.  If there is still a tie, the lowest ORIGINAL CPSA number will determine the captaincy for that year.

At a team’s inception, the member with the lowest qualifying total points score will take the captaincy, if there is a tie, the lowest ORIGINAL CPSA number will determine the captaincy for that year.

2022 ABT HCIT Invitation and Information

FIREARM PERMITS

As the HCIT is being held in the Republic of Ireland this year, firearm permits are required.

We have been advised that permits will take 8/10 weeks to process and as time is tight between the final selection shoot and the event we are advising that you apply for your permit after the second selection shoot taking place 30th April - 1 May 2022.  Permits are valid for 12 months.

We appreciate we are asking you to apply for this permit prior to the team being finalised but unfortunately we have been advised because of the timescale that if you do not have a permit this will prohibit you from travelling with your guns and therefore may jeopardise your place in the England Team.  Permits are valid for 12 months.

Please apply for your firearm permit via  this link:    https://www.ictsa.ie/shop/non-resident-shotgun-permit

Completed Applications and supporting documents should be sent to:    treasurer@ictsa.ie

Contact suzanne@cpsa.co.uk if you have any questions
