Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate

If you have requested that your Instructor or Referee qualification be added to, or updated on, our website then please be aware

That...

  • Your details are now available to view in the public domain

And therfore...

  •  If you intend to work with children or vulnerable adults

Then...

  • It is your responsibility to ensure that you have a valid and current disclosure and barring certificate in place with us

And...

  • Until such time as we are in receipt of a valid and current disclosure and barring certificate you will be restricted to working with non-vulnerable adults over the age of 18 years of age.

This certificate must be:

  • an ENHANCED CERTIFICATE OF DISCLOSURE
  • dated within 3 years of issue
  • issued within the jurisdiction of England

If you are already in possession of a valid Disclosure and Barring Service certificate, which meets all of the requirements above, you will need to forward the original certificate to CPSA, preferably by recorded delivery.  Once we have had sight of the original certificate we will return it to you via recorded delivery.

If you do not have the required certificate then please contact Clare Heney on 01483 485 405 or via email to request an application. We use a DBS umbrella company (UCheck) to process applications and you will receive an email from us containing a link to follow to complete an online application.

Please make a note of your application reference number before returning your application to us as you will need this, along with your date of birth, to log in to the Disclosure and Barring Service website - https://secure.crbonline.gov.uk/enquiry/enquirySearch.do - should you wish to track the progress of your application.

Once the checks are completed you will receive confirmation and an original certificate through the post for you to retain and use. Yu no longer need to send this to us. Once we have been informed of a successful application, and provided that there are no reasons prohibiting you, you will then be entitled to work within the Children and Vulnerable Adult Workforce.
