This year’s contested National Director position is between the following candidates:

Nominees:

Clive Bramley Andy Deeks Nicola Heron Stuart Smith Luke Young

I have been shooting clay targets for over 35 years ranging from English Skeet, NSSA, Olympic Skeet, English Sporting, DTL, Olympic Trap and Double Trap.   I have competed for England at two Commonwealth Games and several Home Internationals.  I qualified for the Great Britain team in 1990 and have been competing for 25 years on and off in the Olympic Skeet and Double Trap.  My family and I started Doveridge Clay Sports Club. I have extensive experience in every aspect of running a shooting ground from the accounts, managing staff, planning events, marketing and setting targets.  I am qualified as a CPSA Level 2 Coach and an ISSF Level D Coach.

I started out working for IBM as a computer programmer for 5 years. In 1998 my Mum, Dad and I started a shooting ground called Doveridge Clay Sports which became a very well-known CPSA Premier Plus ground.  I have a NEBS qualification in Business and Management as well as a Higher National Diploma in Computer Science.

I am currently the Operations Director at Eaton Hall Shooting Ground, a director and the treasurer of the Association of Professional Shooting Instructors and previously a director and current treasurer for the BICTSF for over 10 years.

I would like to bring my years of experience as a shooter and ground owner to the board to help make decisions which will hopefully improve our sport.  I would like to try and help the CPSA to get more shooters competing in all disciplines and to raise the profile of clay shooting to try and encourage new shooters to our sport.

I’ve been an avid shooter for many years across all disciplines, competing in national and local events. Recently, I’ve undertaken several training courses covering ground safety, refereeing, and basic instruction, further strengthening my knowledge and understanding of the sport.

Self-employed for over 32 years in the family business, specialising in brand image and customer experience across sport, retail, and hospitality. I’ve worked with British Athletics and British Motorcycle Sport, promoting events from grassroots to British Championships, covering sponsorship, marketing, and advertising — always focused on building strong business and sporting partnerships.

I served nearly 20 years on the board committee for regional motorcycle sport across Essex, Suffolk, and Norfolk, progressing to national delegate representing multiple disciplines at general meetings and AGMs. Later, I was nominated to the governing body’s board, where I led the rebrand of the national motocross championship, securing new partners and venues. I also worked to improve governance, transparency, and clarity of rules and regulations — ensuring the sport operated more openly and professionally.

I’d first like to understand how the association supports both shooters and the businesses that host our sport. I’d aim to introduce a league-style system to develop new shooters and attract more partners at regional and national levels. I’d like to involve more venues and clubs, re-establish stronger structure, and build wider public recognition. My goal is a unified association with a stronger national voice — consistent, respected, and visible in the media. I’d also like us to engage more in charity events and corporate days to raise both awareness and participation.

Started shooting in the 80’s and joined the CPSA 1988. I am a passionate competition shooter. England Caps for FSP in 2003 and 2004. Since 2005 had 35 caps for GBR teams, in 6 different disciplines, and in two World Federations. Managed 112 international podium places, including 2 individual Ladies WCH titles and 4 individual Ladies ECH titles. Competition shooting is my life.

Early business career was working as a mechanical engineer in the petrocarbon industry, before setting up an art business 36 years ago. I retired during Covid.

Spent years on CPSA county and regional committees, also sitting as a Director of both the CPSA and BICTSF boards. During Covid I started Zoom meetings to help regional and county committees continue business when they could not meet in person. To date I still host the SER and SWR zoom committee meetings and AGMs.   Good governance is needed in our sport as it faces challenges and threats through legislation. It is vital that we are at the forefront of challenging changes, and protecting our sport. The CPSA is professionally run, it sits at the right meetings and continues to defend our sport vigorously.

Totally passionate about shooters being interested in knowing their sport and understanding how it is run. Shooters must have a voice because the members and grounds ‘ARE’ the CPSA.  I want shooters of all levels to experience the thrill of competition shooting. Most of all, I stand rock solid against any threats from outsiders, interfering in how we play our sport, or interfering in what our shooters want to shoot. The British invented clay shooting years ago and developed it into a beautiful sport that is run in a transparent, safe, professional and diverse way, for all ages and abilities. So, let’s protect it, together.

I have been a keen shooter for almost 20 years, as well as former Suffolk CPSA Vice-Chair. As a shooter I have been a member of the Suffolk and East Midlands Teams multiple times, a member of the England English Skeet Team four times, and have also competed internationally. Having been a competitive shooter for over 15 years I have been fortunate enough to have some successes, including High Gun at the English Skeet Home International in 2025.

My career has been varied including working in the private mental healthcare sector where I began my staff training and management career. I am a qualified shooting instructor with the Association of Professional Shooting Instructors, holding level 1 & 2 and FITASC level 1 with them. I have been teaching for almost 10 years and have had multiple clients achieve national and international successes that include shooting as a part of the England Teams. I am also a qualified referee for skeet, sporting, FITASC / COMPAK, and a CPSA Safety Officer.

For the last 20 years I have worked as Director and Managing Director for a private property rental company, farm, and currently Eriswell Lodge, where I have been Managing Director for 11 years. As Managing Director my role includes people management, accounts and finance, health and safety, business operations and communications. Having been a member of the CPSA for 17 years I am well aware of the changes affecting our industry, and I would like to help the Association provide a clear path forward that protects this sport and industry for the participants and those that are invested in it through their businesses. This also includes helping to grow the level of participation and involvement in the domestic skeet disciplines ensuring they are properly supported and protected for the future.

Previous employment within grounds management of the independent schools sector allowed me to gain knowledge of Ruby, Cricket, and Hockey. Within shooting I have 10 England caps and 5 GB caps for Olympic skeet and have shot competitively for 12 years visiting many grounds in UK and abroad.

I have a degree in Horticulture and Landscape Management and am currently the Head Gardener of a large North Yorkshire estate, managing a team of gardeners and ground staff. In this role I manage budgets and project, delivery these on time and within the budget.

I am currently on the CPSA North Region committee and have been for 4 years. I am also Vice Chairman of East Yorkshire Gun Club helping to guide the ground through a difficult few years to hopefully a positive future.

I may be young, however, I feel I could bring some new and positive ideas to the table and hopefully encourage more people into a sport that has given me so much. I feel the sport faces significant challenges over the next few years and would like to contribute to safeguarding its future.
