Premier League 2020 update

headlines

The final legs in both divisions took place over the Bank Holiday weekend at Atkin Grant & Lang (AGL) on Saturday 29th August and Sporting Targets on Monday 31st August and we are now able to confirm the winning team in each division but before we do that, lets have a look at the results from each fixture:

Starting with AGL's fixture, High Gun on the day was tied with some excellent shooting from Team Southdown's Chris Childerhouse and Team Cambridge's David Gooding both scoring 96 ex 100. Before anyone asks, David's score only counts for the registered shoot and not the Premier League as this was a South Division fixture and only scores from Teams in that division apply. Nevertheless, it was a great score so well done to both.

Perhaps the stand out score of the day, however, goes to Colt Shooter Joshua Poyser from Team Owls Lodge shooting in C Class who put in a superb 81 ex 100 to also record a 96 with his handicap applied. Well done Joshua, great shooting!

From a team perspective, Joshua's score helped Team Owls Lodge register the highest top ten score of the day with 905 ex 1,000, just 4 ahead of Team Southdown's 901 ex 1,000.

Sporting Targets held their fixture on Bank Holiday Monday and this time 2018 English Open & World Sporting Champion Richard Bunning took the High Gun honours with a fantastic 96 ex 100 and the top Premier League score came from Team Cambridge's James Bailey shooting in A Class who scored 91 ex 100 to also record a 96 with his A Class handicap applied.

That's five 96's scored across both fixtures either as raw scores or with handicap's applied!

Team Sporting Targets took full advantage of home conditions to register the highest top ten score of the day with 885 ex 1,000 with Team Cambridge in second place on 863 ex 1,000 so well done to them too.

So following the completion of all four divisional fixtures, we can now confirm the division winners and the team bonus points which will be applied to the scores at the final at West London Shooting School on the 26th September:

North Division

Team Sporting Targets + 10 points

Team Cambridge + 8 points

Team Doveridge + 6 points

Team Orston + 4 points

South Division

Team Owls Lodge + 10 points

Team Southdown + 8 points

Team E J Churchill + 6 points

Team Atkin Grant & Lang + 4 points

Congratulations to Team Sporting Targets & Team Owls Lodge as 2020 Division Winners.
