British Grand Prix OSK
British Report
On the 13th & 14th September, the BICTSF hosted the British Grand Prix Olympic Skeet at the newly upgraded Eaton Hall Shooting Ground. 54 shooters made this one of, if not the best represented OSK shoot since COVID. Weather over the weekend was extremely varied from bright sunshine to torrential downpours.
For this event we were also fund raising for Mummy's Star charity in memory of OSK shooter Sarah Louise Wright. To many of us she is still fondly referred to as Sarah Gray, and the new Ladies trophy is named after her. Mummy’s Star supports women who receive a cancer diagnosis during pregnancy and up to twelve months after the birth of their baby. They supported Sarah and her family.
Over the weekend, raffle tickets were sold to raise funds for the charity and there was an auction at the end of the shoot. Through donations and fundraising I am delighted to say that the Olympic skeet community raised £3,272.
Thank you to our very generous sponsors for donating prizes for the raffle and auction:

Congratulations to Michael Gilligan overall winner on a great score of 119, he takes home the Dunhill trophy for a record breaking eighth time. Both Hugh Westminster and Owen Lewis were locked on 118 for Runner up – after a shoot off Hugh took second place overall.
Jessica Hambrook shot an impressive 116 to take the double of the Ladies title, the Sarah Louise Wright Trophy, and Junior Ladies titles. Maddy Boyd was Ladies runner up, with Katy Essex in Third. In Junior Ladies Katy Essex took the runner up spot, with Sophie Langton in third.
In Juniors, Charles Worrall took top Junior Men’s high gun and Lee Bowditch was Veteran High Gun.
All category winners received 250 cartridges each very kindly donated by Barry Essex who continues to support the Olympic skeet shoots.
Finals were added for British Shooting to allow the shoot to count toward selection for the GB team. Due to the high entry, we were able to run three finals concurrently. In the Senior Men’s final Hugh Westminster won with 54 ex 60. Ladies were combined into one final for Senior and Junior Ladies Katy Essex was victorious on 53. In Junior Men’s Henry Lungley took the gold medal
Thank you to those that supported the event and donated prizes, time, and money for the charity. Your support helped make this a friendly atmosphere over the weekend.
We would like to thank the team and Eaton Hall for hosting us over the weekend, especially Amy and Clive who were both incredibly supportive throughout.
