Lead Transition Update
We are fully aware of the Government's update on their proposed transition from lead. It is very disappointing that they have chosen not to follow HSE's recommendations regarding a transition period of 5 years, and are instead proposing legislation of 3 years from being enacted in summer 2026. This would mean any restriction would come in summer 2029.
In the past week, since the announcement, we have been confirming details with the HSE and the Minister's office and will be scheduling a meeting with our lead working group and fellow associations in early September to consider and plan our next steps, in what is one of the most important changes to our sport in decades. We will continue to work in tandem with our shooting partners both in the trade and fellow associations.
