Silver For Jack Fairclough in Australia

general

Jack Fairclough secured Silver in the Men’s Skeet during the second day of the Commonwealth Shooting Federation Championships in Australia.

Having shot a perfect 50 in the first two rounds of qualification on Monday, Jack continued in fine form, beating Australian Paul Adams in a shoot-off to progress to the final in first place.

However, Jack was no match for Welshman Ben Llewellin in the final. Ben has been shooting to a superb standard lately and followed up his joint World Record of 59 ex 60 last week at the ISSF World Cup in New Delhi, by equalling it once again. Jack shot well, but had to settle for Silver, with Paul Adams taking Bronze.

Elsewhere, England’s Freddie Killander showed good character to finish his qualification round on 48 ex 50, giving him a total score of 111, which was not enough to secure him a place in the final, but nevertheless a fantastic experience for the 25-year-old.

Full results from the second day of the Commonwealth Shooting Federation Championships will follow.
