ESK England Team Selection Process - Update December 2020

england

Please see below a letter that was sent to all English Skeet shooters yesterday.

Following feedback received after changes made to the England Team Selection process in 2019, the English Skeet steering group were asked earlier this year to submit a revised selection process in accordance with the wishes of the skeet community.  The steering group's recommendations were submitted to, and approved by the CPSA Board of Directors on 8th December. The following selection process was agreed and will be implemented with the aim not to review for the next 5 years unless required.

In order to express an interest, members will be invited to submit their best 5 ex 100 scores from 3 different grounds, from the period 1st July 2019 - 28th February 2021. Please note that this extended date range is only applicable for the 2021 selection. From next year the qualifying window will revert back to 1st July - 28th February of the following year.  Scores and expression of of interest can be submitted using this link.  Click Here

Once the scores have been submitted, the software will collate and put them in numerical order (highest to lowest).  From this, the top 60 Seniors, 15 Juniors, 15 Ladies, 15 Veterans and 15 Super Veterans will be invited to attend the selection shoots.

From now until the review in 5 years time, there will be just 2 selection shoots. The grounds for selection will rotate annually within the regions of North and South.

The selection shoots will be run over 200 targets, with both scores to count.  Therefore if you are unable to attend one of the shoots, you will not be eligible to have your scores presented for consideration into the team.

At the end of the 2nd selection shoot, if there is a tie for a place within the team,  there will be a shoot off to determine that place.  The team will be selected on scores and members will be placed in the category most commensurate with ensuring the strongest team.
