World Championships 2025 Day Six

championships

Thursday brought another day of busy competition, marking the second round of the third rotation of the World English Sporting, the penultimate day of both the World Sportrap and British Open Super Sporting, and the final day of the Prelim.

In the World English Sporting, John Lee and Brett Winstanley remain out in front, with Martin Myers continuing to hold third place.

In the British Open Super Sporting, Phil Gray and Bastien Havart each shot a terrific 95 ex 100 today, bringing them up to tied first place. Brett Winstanley and Brandon Powell now sit just behind on 94.

World Sportrap leaderboard positions remained unchanged today, with James Attwood, Henry Collins, and Pete Goldsmith holding steady at the top.

The Prelim Sporting concluded today - congratulations to James Attwood, who claimed Overall High Gun after a close shoot-off this afternoon against Jacob O'Loughlin. Both shooters had tied on 94 ex 100, but it was Attwood who edged ahead to take the win.

This evening also saw the return of the much-anticipated Yanks vs Brits competition, where six of the best shooters from each team go head-to-head for the 2025 title. Team USA emerged victorious this year! A big thank you to FSA and Shots & Co for their generous support of this event, providing sponsored prizes for the competitors.

With international teams still to shoot and some top names yet to take to the course, High Gun is still all to play for as we move into the second half of the week.

We are grateful for the generous support of sponsors BrowningZoli, Rizzini, WinchesterEley Cartridges, B&P CartridgesSwatcom, Schöffel and Le Chameau who have provided guns, cartridges, hearing protection and clothing vouchers respectively as prizes for winners along with addition to the prize fund. We are also grateful for Teague Precision Chokes, Shots & CoHolts Auctioneers & Laporte for their support of the championships.
