British Open Sporting & Sportrap 2023 (Day 3)

Day 3 of the CPSA British Open English Sporting and the penultimate day of the Sportrap was a slightly warmer start and apart from a few spots of rain mid afternoon, it stayed dry with good shooting conditions and lots of happy shooters commenting on how much they enjoyed the courses!

The prize draw started the morning, with a live random number generator picking Joshua Bennion as the lucky winner of a fantastic set of Teague chokes generously supplied by Teague Precision Chokes, Neil Midgley a Swatcom cartridge bag, Mike Hayward 250 Eley cartridges and Rebecca Brown a Browning goody bag!

On the Sporting today Nick Hendrick stands as our high-scorer with a very impressive 114x120, closely followed by Mark Winser on 113x120. One of our Top Shots, Hannah Gibson, takes our Ladies HG of the day, with a great 102x120. James Attwood remains unbeaten, however, with 116 from Day 2. Well done all!

On the Sportrap 2023 World Champion Guy Franklin and Mark Winser both shot an exceptional 96x100, the best scores we've seen in the discipline this week. Georgia Moule is our highest Ladies scorer, with 84x100.

The top five from each class (AAA - C) and top three from the following categories of Senior, Ladies, Super Veterans, Veterans, Juniors & Colts per day will be invited back for the 75 target final on Sunday. With the Disabled Category, it is the top standing score and top sitting score plus the next best score regardless of standing or sitting per day to qualify.

Please note, with the classification run happening today, scores to determine final places will be taken from your highest classification across the championships. For the purpose of qualifying, it will be the class on day of shooting.

Please note re the British Open Sportrap which concludes tomorrow: Any ties to determine class and category will be shot using our new tie-break process with two shooters at a time, in stands 1 & 5 shooting their sequence before swapping stands and shooting that sequence with a total of 10 shots. If a tie still exists then a sudden death shoot-off will take place on sim pairs from stand 3. Should there be an odd number of shooters in any tie breaker, a stand-in shooter will be nominated to ensure equity with the shoot-off process.
