British Open Sporting & Sportrap (Day 5)

The final qualifying day of the CPSA British Open Sporting, before Sunday’s invitational Final, and the final day of the British Open Sportrap started with calm, clear conditions which continued throughout the day with as shooters tackled the two courses for the final time.

The prize draw started the morning, with a live random number generator picking  Andrew Gate EE138383 as the lucky winner of a fantastic set of Teague chokes generously supplied by Teague Precision Chokes, William Marsh EE18394 a Swatcom cartridge bag and Stephen Williams EE130621 a Gamebore goodybag!

On this final day of qualifying, we saw a fantastic 112ex120 from Billy Greenwood during the morning and another 112ex120 by Tim Webster in the afternoon closely followed by Colin Will on 109ex120 and Tom Paragreen, shooting in A Class, also putting in a superb 109ex120. However, late in the day, Mark Winser came in with a huge 113ex120 to join Sam Usher and Nathan Hales at the top of the ESP leaderboard.

On the Sportrap, we also saw John Lee register a superb 96ex100 to secure the runner up spot one ahead of Sam Green but George Digweed's 97 on day 4 was just unbeatable after all so many congratulations to George as the British Open Sportrap Champion 2022. Can he secure the double with the BO ESP title tomorrow?

The top four from each class (AAA - C) and top three from the following categories of Senior, Ladies, Veterans, Juniors & Colts per day will be invited back for the 75 target final on Sunday. With the Disabled Category, it is the top standing score and top sitting score plus the next best score regardless of standing or sitting per day to qualify.

Please note, should any ties result from the 75 target Final and the 6-person Super Final, then 5 pairs will be shot from a new stand and if a tie still exists, then a sudden death shoot-off will apply on a new target with only single use of the gun i.e. one shot!
