BO ESP & STR Update

championships

★ British Open English Sporting & Sportrap 2022 Update ★

It’s just a couple of weeks to go to the British Open Sporting & Sportrap at Barbury Shooting Ground from the 30th August to the 4th September and we wanted to give you an update on the event and announce our new CPSA Events App where you will be able to find everything you need to know about the Championship

Firstly, just to clarify, please see below the format for the BO ESP & BO STR for this year:

BO ESP

The BO ESP is 120 targets, shot over 15 stands of 4 pairs with shooters qualifying on Tuesday - Saturday for a 75 target Final on Sunday 4th September, and from there a 6-person Super Final to determine the overall High Gun.

The top four from each class (AAA - C) and top three from the following categories of Senior, Ladies, Veterans, Juniors & Colts per day will be invited back for the 75-target final on Sunday. With the Disabled Categories, it is the top standing score and top sitting score plus the next best score regardless of standing or sitting per day to qualify.

Should any ties result from the 75 target Final and the 6-person Super Final, then 5 pairs will be shot from a new stand and if a tie still exists, then a sudden death shoot-off will apply on a new target with only single use of the gun i.e. one shot!

BO STR

The BO STR is 100 targets, shot over 4 separate layouts running from Tuesday to Saturday, with first past the post and only shoot-offs for any ties.

Please note, anyone shooting the BO ESP & STR on the 1st September onwards, who may be subject to a classification change, will shoot in their highest classification when the competition spans issues.
