English Open Sporting Day 3

championships

Day three at the English Open Sporting at High Lodge started with dry, overcast conditions so those squads that got out early managed to get round before the rain started at about 11am and continued for most of the day.

The first big score of the day came in from Marc Ivey in AAA Class who went out at 9.09am and put in a very impressive 112ex120. Also in his squad was Phil & Amy Easeman back from their recent England Team success at the World Sporting in Texas. Phil, also shooting in AAA Class shot a very good 110ex120 whilst Amy in AA Class and now shooting in Seniors & Ladies, was a bit disappointed with her 95ex120 but thoroughly enjoyed the course nevertheless!

The big scores kept coming with Ben Hollamby putting in a 111ex120, however, just after lunch Phil Gray put in a phenomenal 115ex120 to register the top score of the day, just one behind George's day one score. Phil commented that "it was an excellent course, I enjoyed it from stand one to fifteen!"

In the Ladies category, Sammy Halsey also shooting in B Class put in a very well shot 99ex120 to tie with Lucy Pitt from day 2 and Ruben Calton in Colts and B Class also put in a impressive 99ex120 but elsewhere the standings in Veterans & Juniors remained the same from yesterday.

We are grateful for the generous support of sponsors Rizzini (distributed in the UK by ASI), Eley Cartridges, Swatcom and Musto who have provided guns, cartridges, hearing protection and clothing vouchers respectively as prizes for winners along with addition to the prize fund. We are also grateful for Promatic's support around the ground.
