National Inter-Counties ABT Report

championships

2021's National Inter-Counties was held in the North this year at Bywell on the 10th of October.  The event did not have a huge turnout this year with a number of clashes with other trap disciplines the main reason for the poor turnout.

The day turned out to be a nice bright day with a little wind but not enough to bother the shooters in any way if anything it made the targets a little hard to read as you were expecting them not to be as good as they were.

With strong teams from both Yorkshire and Durham, it was always going to be an interesting event but in the end, Yorkshire took the Senior Team prize with the overall high gun going to David Kirk from Yorkshire who for the second day in a row having shot and won the North Region ABT Championship scoring a fantastic 97 on both days.  Runner up on the day was Ted Philipson with a 93 which also gave him the Veteran high gun.  Continuing with his current form Cory Doble took the Junior high gun with Lewis Kirk taking the Colt high gun(it obviously runs in the family) and the Ladies high gun went to Northumberland’s Dawn Breen who also shared the Ladies Team prize with Corrina Binks for Northumberland.  The Junior team prize went to Yorkshire and Northumberland took the Veteran prize this time around.

A big thank you to Team Bywell for once again putting on a great shoot that ran smoothly as always.  Well shot everyone and I look forward to seeing you all at next years Inter-Counties.
