To be nominated for the Lady shooter of the year is a great honour. I started my down the Line journey when I was 15 when my grandad asked me if I wanted to have a go and from there I have been hooked.

I have had again a very successful shooting year. It started off with the World DTL Championship in South Africa where I won the Ladies Silver Medal. I have retained the DTL English Open and the Dougal Memorial Ladies Title in June and I gained my 11th England cap for the Ladies DTL Team. In the Home International in July, I was the Lady High Gun and the High Gun of England. I retained the Ladies British Open Title and won the Bronze Medal in the European. I have retained the Welsh Open DTL Ladies Title in September. In the North Region DTL championship, I won the Ladies Title. I have won the DTL Lancashire Championship which is the first time a Woman has won this title and the Ladies Lancashire DTL Title as well. I have also won the English Open Single Barrel Ladies Title.

I would like to thank my family and sponsors Krieghoff and Hull for all there help they have given me and to everyone hopefully who is going to vote for me.

My achievements this year have exceeded all expectations given that I have only been shooting clays competitively for a few years. The highs and lows of my journey so far have taught me valuable lessons and created moments in time that I will never forget. I feel I owe a lot to the sport for everything it has given me. Clay shooting has opened up a whole new world. I feel lucky to have visited some amazing places and more importantly I have met some incredible people. When I set out on this journey I struggled massively with confidence and self-belief. The support I have had from people I’ve met within our sport has been overwhelming and I am personally very grateful for that. The fact that I found some confidence and self-belief along the way spurred me on to have a great year.

Some of the highlights of my year include being part of the Great Britain team at the European and World FITASC championships. We placed ladies team bronze in Cyprus at the Europeans. I also represented England for the Home International FITASC in Ireland where we won ladies team Gold, and I placed silver individually. I also won Ladies champion at the Irish open compak and FITASC during a trip to Ireland. I won my first CPSA major at the English Open Sportrap and placed fourth individually overall. I took part in the Fujairah Mountain Shooting Challenge where I placed in the top 10 against some of the world’s top lady shots. I have been placed and won other events during the 2023 clay season both in the UK and abroad.

I will continue to enjoy and be thankful I can partake in a sport I am so passionate about. To be nominated for lady shooter of the year is something I am extremely grateful for and to be shortlisted is an honour. To win this award would be just incredible. Thank you so much to everyone who has voted for me so far.
