Vote for Referee of the Year

I am not going to reel off all the big competitions as requested except the Worlds Supersporting, very few guns got through my stand unscathed! My heart bled that week!

Instead I’d rather give a shout out to all the clubs that run monthly keeping this sport going too.

I am professional & fair. Much of my experience & confidence has been gained from priceless advice & support from other referees.

I’m chuffed being nominated, considering we get paid lots to sit out in glorious weather, seeing every bit that comes off a target and agreeing with all the shooters. 

Seriously, with the standard of targets and the abilities of shooters we’ve seen this year at Fujairah Mountain Championship, the Worlds at EJC, English Open Sports trap, Pro One, Blaser Challenge, etc, (Unfortunately, due to a detached retina, I missed the British Open at Eaton Hall; some may say it wouldn’t have made a difference!), the “referee” needs to be Professional, consistent, unbiased, make clear calls plus I feel a touch of humour for everyone. 

However we must not forget it’s about enjoyment for all shooters in a fair, regulated environment.
