Barbury Shooting School National Clay Shooting Centre East Yorkshire Shooting School South West Shootng School

Tucked away in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside, Barbury Shooting School (BSS) attracts shooters from far and wide for a variety of disciplines.   Bought by Huw Stephens in 2007, the school has grown in size and reputation over the past 14 years culminating in the most recent projects to rebuild the clubhouse and further extend the grounds, as well adding a large café, private function room and gun shop, BSS has also added 4 new covered Sportrap layouts, a new high tower and driven game area.    These improvements made BSS the natural choice to host the English Open in 2021 and several other leading competitions.

As the school has grown so has the number of staff required to run this slick operation. With Huw Stephens still at the helm, he is ably supported by his Office Manager Lorna Davies and Assistant Manager Joshua Brown who head up a team 20 staff.  The gun room is managed by Craig Hartley and his team. Open 7 days a week the gun room has an exceptional collection of new and second-hand shotguns from leading manufacturers available for purchase as well as a range of shooting accessories and gifts.

Barbury Shooting School is open 7 days a week for sporting practice and there’s no need to book.   There’s a dedicated sporting layout available where the targets are changed every week and the addition of a Claymate system also means that lone shooters are welcome.   In addition to practice, Barbury also offers tuition for clay and game shots from novice to seasoned shooters and offers a wide variety of teaching targets.  BSS also offers initiatives to encourage ladies and youngsters to take up shooting with the Cotswold & Wiltshire Ladies and Young Clayshots programs and we have 5 external estates where we run our popular simulated game days from March through to September each year

The National Clay Shooting Centre was built for the Commonwealth Games in 2002 and is a truly world-class shooting complex. The instantly recognisable skyline of white canopies covers a line of superb shooting layouts, equipped with over 90 Promatic clay machines catering for shooters of all abilities. They include computer-controlled scoring, trap sequencing, acoustic release, and two training layouts.

Regular competitions such as CPSA Registered shoots, BICTSF Selection shoots, British Shooting Events and NCSC competitions are held throughout the year. Practice is also available on the layouts and shooting lessons can be booked for all disciplines.

The Centre has just undergone a substantial refurbishment. All traps have been replaced along with brand new cabling and acoustic systems. These improvements have secured the National Clay Shooting Centre as a centre of excellence for the formal disciplines together and an overall venue worthy of its name. We are proud to provide both our members and athletes from British Shooting, the best facilities available and we look forward to delivering the opportunity for all shooters to develop within the sport.

We work hand in hand with the CPSA to provide a first-class venue for both courses and continuous professional development for both instructors and coaches. As a result, we able to provide customers with some of the finest coaching in the industry.

Of course, none of this is possible without support from our members and visiting shooters. In addition to our packed competition schedule, we have also introduced several smaller, mid-week events which are proving particularly popular across all disciplines.

With the introduction of a new Café Manager and chef, the menu has also recently been improved to reflect a healthier, more home cooked selection. In essence we are striving to provide a more welcoming, friendly, and safe environment for everyone, from the Elite Athlete to those taking their first shot.

We’ve had an amazing 2021 at East Yorkshire Clay Shooting Ground, hosting many amazing events and welcomed shooters from around the UK.

Rewind back to the start of 2021 and we were in lockdown, following on from extensive work done outdoors during 2020, we set to work on the clubhouse giving it a full refurbishment. During lockdown we were fortunate to support British Shooting with weekly training camps for their elite athletes in preparation for international competitions. We are proud to have supported British Shooting on the road to Tokyo.

We’ve hosted many events on behalf of the CPSA during 2021, including England DTL, ABT, OSK, OT and ESK Selection Shoots as well as the English & British Double Rise & Single Barrel Championships. We welcomed the Olympic disciplines on multiple occasions for the British Shooting Shotgun Series and the British Shooting Grand Final. We also held the Caesar Guerini Trap Challenge, our first 100 Registered Sporting and 125 Sportrap all ran off acoustic. All shoots were always held during the pandemic with mitigations in place.

We’ve witnessed some incredible moments at East Yorkshire during 2021 including 125/125 at STR, 124/125 at OSK and OT, 100/100 at ABT and Single Barrel and 200/200 at ESK.

Our ambition when we established East Yorkshire two years ago was to provide an excellent venue in the North of England for shooters of all disciplines to enjoy in all weathers, encourage new people into the sport and provide a facility to enable shooters to perform at the highest level. We must thank Promatic & Corsivia for being part of this journey with us.

Whether you’re an Olympian, competition shooter, or new to the sport, we welcome everybody to East Yorkshire and cater for all.

The South West Shooting School is a Clay Pigeon Shooting Association (CPSA) Premier Ground open to everyone, whatever their age or ability.

As well as providing clay shooting in Devon with recreational shooting for individuals and groups, the school hosts CPSA Devon Selection Shoots, Devon CPSA Competitions and CPSA Devon Championships.  We also run open competitions a few times a year with classes for everyone and a wide selection of prizes.

We specialise in English sporting and have facilities for Sportrap and for FITASC.

We have recently completely re - vamped the entire ground and turned what was an already excellent ground into now what we believe to be one of the best in the country. We take great pride in our course / target setting and with two separate 100clay sporting courses we really have something for everyone!

From raw beginners to competitors wanting professional coaching, the Southwest Shooting School can accommodate everyone’s needs
