I have been involved in the sport for 50 years, and have been a member of the Association for almost all of that time. I was a founding member of my local county committee and have experienced all disciplines, some at world level.
I have been involved in firearms licensing for about the same length of time, being recruited into it as a very young police officer when my interest in the sport and technical knowledge became known.
After retirement I worked in and managed the licensing department and continue to attend advisory meetings with the police.
Management experience gained in my career should be of value to the Association and I am keen to see the function of the board improve and develop in line with government advice given to all sporting bodies.
I am very proud to have been made a life vice president at the 2018 AGM and will endeavour to live up to it.
