Commercial Manager

 

The CPSA has a long and fascinating history and as a recent ‘recruit’ to the CPSA HQ team I feel very privileged to be joining such a well established and respected sporting organisation.

As the new Commercial Manager, I am looking forward to working with management, staff and members to further develop the organisations commercial activities and member services. My background is very much one of commercial marketing across a number of industry sectors, including publishing with IPC magazines , membership marketing with the Automobile Association and subscription marketing with BBC TV Licencing.

As a shooter and qualified small-bore instructor myself, (and looking forward to my first Clay shooting experience!), this role immediately attracted me. To work in a leading membership based sporting organisation with great opportunities to build on the good work that has been put in over recent years, offers in my view great challenge and scope for future growth and development.

The Associations image has recently been successfully raised through a brand ‘facelift’, our excellent award nominated website is one of the best in the sporting and recreational sector, PULL! Magazine has a new, fresh look, plus newly stocked on-line shop for CPSA members, all of which add up to a pretty good platform on which to build. Regular trade sponsorships and involvement in major events and competitions are of course vital to our marketing and promotional strategy.

At a personal level, my hobbies are small-bore shooting and coaching (until I am converted to clay target!), cycling, golf and classic cars. The latter being an indulgence I am trying to give up! I am married with two children aged 17 and 13. 

I look forward to working with you all and to developing new initiatives for the future growth and success of our Association.

What is clay shooting?

Clay pigeon shooting is the art of shooting at special flying targets, known as clay pigeons or clay targets, with a shotgun.
