New rule for OT Registered competitions
New rule for OT Registered competitions (Introduced 13/01/12)
With immediate effect, C and D class shooters may now use 28g cartridges in Olympic Trap competitions to encourage more competitors to try this discipline, for example from others such as ABT, DTL or UT where 28g loads are already permitted.
Competitors using 28g cartridges may only win prizes or prize money in their class but any unclassified shooters who end the competition B class or better will not be eligible to win. Anyone taking part in a selection shoot with the intention of gaining a place in the England team may only use 24g cartridges throughout.
To assist with the proper regulation of this concession, any entrant using 28g cartridges should declare their intention to use 28g cartridges when they book in to any event and have their class recorded on their scorecard so that referees know they are allowed to use the heavier load.
