CLA GAME FAIR
GRANTHAM, LECEISTER 24TH – 26TH JULY 2009
This year the CPSA had a stand in Gunmakers Row, where the individual membership was being promoted along with a variety of CPSA clothing! With the staff taking wagers on how many membership we would achieve, and with an even better idea, it was decided that we would all put in an amount, and whoever was the closest to the number, would double the money and donate it to “Help4Heroes”! We did gain 82 new members! Should you wish to make a donation, please visit http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk
On the Clay line we had a good team being lead by Mike Williams from High Tower Shooting Ground. We had approximately 750 people go through the CPSA “shooting experience”, and alongside this was a “Purdey Experience”, have a go, which proved to be very popular! Bobby was alongside with the trailer, promoting the CPSA, and signing up new members. The weather was kind to us, and the team worked hard and enjoyed the event.
The first every event of Champion of Champions was run over two days, Friday being the main event and semi -final and the final on the Saturday. We had an approximate 20 Counties taking part, and this was won by Chris Biddlecombe from Gloucestershire, with Andrew Bennett from Warwickshire in 2nd place, and Stuart Emms from Wiltshire in 3rd place. All won some nice prizes, from Land Rover & CPSA, with the winning county winning some money to put back into their county for shooting.
Next year with the Game Fair being at Ragley Hall in Warwickshire, it would be great to see more Counties take part in the Champion of Champions event. If you would like to show your interest as a County Secretary, please email Paula by clicking here, although every county will be written to, to put forward their champion who will take part. If you are the shooter wanting to take part get shooting and work hard towards becoming your counties top shot.
We would like to thank The CLA Game Fair, Land Rover & John Bidwell Shooting School, the Counties and of course all the Champions that took part for making this years Champion of Champions a success!
We look forward to seeing you next year at The CLA Game Fair!
Paula
