Brian Curtis

East Midlands Region Director

I am 59 years of age, married to Diane since 1967.  We have 4 children and 7 grandchildren.  We live at Newtown Grange Farm in Newton Unthank near Desford in Leicestershire.

I am a farmer and a shooting ground owner and have over the past few years developed Newtown Grange Farm Business Park from the redundant farm buildings at Newtown Unthank.  I have tried my hand at most shooting disciplines but prefer English Sporting and FITASC Sporting.

I have for many years served on the Leicestershire and Rutland County Committee and for the last 6 years have represented the County on the East Midlands Regional Committee.

I was co-opted onto the Board of Directors, when my predecessor resigned as Regional Director and Chairman.  I have recently been elected to the position of Regional Director East Midlands.

I believe that I am well positioned to represent the interests of our members on the Board of Directors in view of my active involvement with County and Regional Committees, my position as a ground owner and my ongoing participation as a competitive shooter.  For those who know me, they will recognise that I listen to their views and am prepared to represent them fairly.  I am also not afraid to speak my mind when necessary.

What is clay shooting?

Clay pigeon shooting is the art of shooting at special flying targets, known as clay pigeons or clay targets, with a shotgun.
