Bob Kibblewhite

West Midlands Region Director

Appointed West Midlands Region Director at AGM on 26th March 2011.

I have over 40 years’ experience in our sport. I have shot all disciplines and in some have participated at all levels from recreation to world championships.

A founder member of the Association’s Warwickshire committee, I have served almost continuously as secretary and have also served on the West Midlands regional committee. As the Police Athletic Association’s clay shooting secretary I have organised major championship meetings and managed international teams. During much of my service I was responsible to my chief constable for firearms licensing matters and was able to help change the restrictive attitude towards certificate holders to one of service to them as customers. Following retirement from the police service I became the CPSA’s honorary licensing adviser and continued to provide that service until recently when a solicitor with relevant knowledge accepted the role.

I am fully aware that my role as a Director, particularly in these modern times, will be challenging and very time consuming. It will also, I hope, be rewarding. I remain as passionate as ever about our sport and will do my utmost to help the Association protect and promote itself, as well as to increase member numbers, improve service to members and continue recent progress towards becoming a more dynamic, cost-effective, open and ‘listening’ organisation. I hope that among my best qualities are an open mind and a willingness to listen. I have no ‘personal agenda’ and no conflicting interests.
