UNIVERSAL TRENCH EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS 2008 The above event is being held near Porto, Portugal in June. TAP is the only airline that flies direct from the UK to Porto. TAP have recently changed their website to show that they do not carry firearms from the UK. Entrants to this event have already booked flights with TAP before the change took place. However, it has been discovered that TAP will carry firearms provided certain procedures are undertaken in advance. Anyone who has booked with TAP or is intending to travel with TAP should bring to the UT selection shoot at Rugby & DTC on 12th/13th April the following: · A colour photocopy of both Shotgun Certificate and European Firearms Permit (if unable to obtain, bring both documents with you). · Details of the shotgun they will be using in Portugal (please make sure it is included on both Shotgun Certificate & European Firearms Permit). · Details of the outward and return flights with TAP. John Heading, UT Team Manager, is liaising with TAP and will forward the above information to them to ensure check in staff at the departure and arrival airports are made aware that they will be accepting the firearms. Phil Rowley President BICTSF 4th April 2008 FITASC SPORTING SELECTION SHOOT HODNET SG CHANGE OF DATE - NOW 11TH & 12TH OCTOBER. The French Federation (FFBT) have set the date of their FITASC Sporting French Grand Prix and have clashed it with our Hodnet selection shoot on 23/24 August. Many GB shooters will want to attend the French event as it counts towards the World Cup final which runs concurrently with the World Championships in September. BICTSF's FITASC Sporting sub committee, in conjunction with Hodnet SG, have decided to change the date of the selection shoot to 11th & 12th October to please shooters in this country who would otherwise have to choose which event they wish to enter. Helice The British Grand Prix (West Kent SS, August 08) will be considered as a selection shoot for next year, because it is not possible to run enough selection shoots in 2009 before the first international competition.
